Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland

To be released in March 2010, Tim Burton’s remake of Alice’s adventure in Wonderland will see Alice revisiting Wonderland 7 years later as a 17 year old. Relative unknown Mia Wasikowska plays Alice and Johnny Depp (predictably) plays the Mad Hatter.

Here’s Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, complete with oversized head. No wonder she’s obsessed with cutting people’s heads off!

The new White Queen is played by Anne Hathaway but Carol Channing will always be the White Queen for me. I’ve probably watched the 1985 TV movie Alice Through the Looking Glass a couple hundred times (specifically scenes with Carol in it) as a child. My brother and I loved to do impressions of her repeatedly, voice, kooky movements and all, much to our mum’s annoyance!
