As a kid, I totally missed out on the Strawberry Shortcake train but if I didn’t, I imagine my dream bedroom would look something like this, full of strawberry prints, red and white polka dots and heart shaped cushions:

When I was about 10, I remember the other girls in my class raving about this thing called Strawberry Shortcake. I was too embarrassed to find out more about this popular “dessert”. Just as well. Can you imagine if I were to ask them “does it taste like cake with strawberries and cream on top?”:D
Major love for this sweet bedroom set. This orange-rose shade is so, so pretty. I could collapse into this bed right now!

Sometimes I wonder if I’m compensating for my pink (and Strawberry Shortcake) deprived childhood by featuring so many cute or pink stuff on The Lovely Room.

All these lovely bed sheet sets are from this site (in Japanese).
Beautiful patchwork quilt patten and color scheme from Couturier magazine (in Japanese). These quilt brought back memories of crafting in school.
I always viewed quilting as a communal activity – many women sitting together chatting and doing their bit. I thought the baby who’ll be gifted the quilt is one lucky girl – so many people who loved her enough to come together for one big project.
I sewed patches for a quilt for an Arts and Crafts project when I was about 9 or 10 years old. Our teacher got us all the craft supplies. There were a couple of us working on the project and it took us months. At the end of it, my teacher helped us put the whole thing together but I never got to see the result. :(

I never had a quilt made in my honour but I do have a lot of knitted or crocheted stuff made by my grandma: complete bedding sets – pillows, baby blankets, bed sheet – baby clothes and toys. I guess I’m a pretty lucky girl too. :)
